FRONT PORCH

This was a more budget - friendly job…. The client’s existing brick porch had seen its day, but now was in need of a total overhaul. They didn’t want to spend the money on a total tear out and rebuild, so we came up with a great alternative solution. We demo’d the brick steps and top landing. We then built forms for new steps, reinforced the block “core” with rebar and flashed the side of the house. Next we grouted every cell of the existing block structure and poured the steps with high strength concrete with mesh reinforcements. Then we mortared on brick veneers and bluestone treads. We poured a new landing pad and pointed the veneers. Finally, we reinstalled the old iron railings…. It came out pretty good!
